What's wrong with my wardrobe?
Do you often wonder why things in your wardrobe don’t go together, leaving you feeling frustrated? You want so much to feel fabulous and confident, ready to take on the day!
I’m here to tell you that you CAN feel that way. And that your wardrobe can and should be serving you better than it is.
Here are a few things to ask yourself to get to that feel-good, can-do, happy wardrobe feeling:
Am I missing a piece that will complete a look? What is it? Do I need a belt for a dress, a bright scarf to spice up a neutral-colored cardigan, comfortable shoes to walk the city, or a smaller clutch to pair with my cocktail dress now that social events are springing up again? Shall I make a list?
Is there a piece in my wardrobe that I love but something’s off and I can’t figure out what, so there it sits? Is it the color or could it be a fit or proportion problem? Will an alteration be the answer? Maybe a minor alteration will turn the item into a new favorite. Or maybe delivering to my favorite charity would be even better. I’m not sure and would love an expert’s opinion.
How can I keep track of some of the combinations of pieces that I end up loving? Sometimes I can’t remember what I put together last week. Is there an easy way to keep track of all my outfit combinations? Then when I go into my closet thinking I have nothing to wear, I’d have an instant solution. Doesn’t this sound dreamy! What’s the easiest way to do this?
Why do I sometimes feel blah when I get dressed? Is it time to authorize a moratorium on black and give myself a chance to lighten and brighten up? Yes, probably, but getting out of a color rut can be challenging. How do I begin making a color transition?
What holds me back from getting some of my pieces into rotation? I often don’t wear things because I think I need a special occasion. Why do I think I can’t wear them any day? I’d love someone to show me different ways to wear them.
So, if you ask yourself these kinds of questions and wonder why you’re tired of feeling unsatisfied and frustrated with your wardrobe, help is just around the corner. There are answers and solutions to each of these questions, and the good news is you’re asking.
